Old Road Hand Stitched Vest was constructed from reclaimed suiting fabrics and finished with visible hand stitching, textile collage and garment transformation techniques.
One-of-a-kind garment by Fly Art Atelier.
Part of the Fly Art Atelier Archive.
This vest was constructed in the atelier using premium wool fabrics sourced from tailored suits and formal garments. Different suiting fabrics were combined and assembled to create a new garment while preserving the character of the original materials.
The vest was assembled and finished by hand, and visible hand stitching was intentionally left as part of the visual language of the piece, emphasizing the construction and structure of the garment.
Vintage buttons were selected and attached by hand, adding individual elements that contrast with the formal tailoring fabrics and introduce a sense of time and material history.
The back panel and adjustable strap reference traditional tailoring vests, while the overall garment remains a reconstructed and assembled textile object rather than a classic vest.
Rather than producing a new garment from new fabric, this piece was built through reconstruction, reuse and textile assembly, turning tailoring materials into a wearable object.
Each piece is made individually and cannot be repeated, as the materials and vintage elements are always different.
No stencils.
No duplication.
The composition evolves directly on the garment, guided by texture, wear, and structure.
This is not customization.
This is transformation.
One-of-a-kind piece.
